Our goal in injury and death cases is recovery of the highest settlement or to obtain the highest verdict for our clients in the shortest time possible, given the facts and demands involved. Attorney J. Michael Conley is the former senior partner of a larger law firm, Fitzgerald, Conley, Haley and O'Neil, which was founded in 1963. He left in 1998 to form his own firm to focus on representing individuals and small businesses and Attorney Wenonah M. Wirick soon joined that firm. Conley & Wirick represent injured persons and their families in cases involving motor vehicle accidents, wrongful death, defective products, medical malpractice, construction site injuries, slip and fall, catastrophic and other severe injuries. He also concentrates in business and commercial law, including civil litigation. He has vast trial experience and has successfully handled many mediations and arbitrations.
Legal Fees
We handle personal injury and wrongful death cases on a contingent fee basis, which means that the client pays no legal fee to us unless and until we have obtained a recovery by settlement or trial. We also handle other individual and business cases on a set hourly rate, as well as on a retainer basis with a set fee agreed upon in advance.

Attorney & Staff Profiles
J. MICHAEL CONLEY, ESQ., was born in Bath,
Maine, August 31, 1944. He graduated from
Phillips Exeter Academy in 1963, then in 1967
he received his B.A. from the University of
Vermont, and in 1970 he received a J.D. from
the University of Maine. The same year, Mr.
Conley was admitted to bar in the Maine and
U.S. District Court, District of Maine, and the
U.S. Court of Appeals, First Circuit. From 1969
to 1970 he was a member of the Maine Law
Review, and his lecture history includes the
ATLA Convention - Seminars; the AIG Seminar
concerning Motor Vehicle Restraint Systems;
the Winter Seminar, regarding Laparoscopic Surgery; the MTLA Seminars; concerning Underinsured/Uninsured Motorists Coverage; the Motor Vehicle Insurance Policy in Maine. Mr. Conley is the Co-Chair, Major Gifts, YMCA, Bath; the Senior Partner and President, Conley, Haley and Champion, P.A., 1970-1998; a former member of the Advisory Committee on Civil Rules of Procedure, Maine Supreme Judicial Court; a former member of the Advisory Committee on Court Administration, Maine Supreme Judicial Court; a member of the Sagadahoc County Maine State and American Bar Associations; Maine Trial Lawyers Association; the Association of Trial Lawyers of America; Attorneys Information Exchange Group. WENONAH M. WIRICK, ESQ., graduated Cum
Laude from University of Maine School of Law
in 2004. She previously graduated Suma Cum
Laude from the Southern New Hampshire
University in 1992. She was Valedictorian at
both Casco Bay College and Carrabic High
School. Prior to joining the Conley firm, Ms.
Wirick gained experience as a Paralegal, while
working for several years at a large firm of
trial attorneys in Portland. She began her
employment with Attorney Conley in 1990 as
a paralegal, and was employed as the firm’s
Law Clerk through law school. Ms. Wirick is a member of the Maine State and American Bar Associations, Maine Trial Lawyers Association, and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. Attorney Wirick has two sons, and her interests include skiing and traveling. (wwirick@conleylaw.com)
Rosemary McCrory, OFFICE MANAGER AND PARALEGAL, graduated from the University of Maine in 2002 with an Associates of Science degree in Legal Technology. She lives in Brunswick and outside of work she enjoys spending time with her husband and two active children. (rmccrory@conleylaw.com)
Denise Carver, PARALEGAL, graduated from Bob Jones University in 1995 with a Bachelor’s degree in English. She lives in Wiscasset with her husband and three children. Outside of work, Denise enjoys reading and attending her children’s sporting events.
Alexandra Plourde, LEGAL ASSISTANT, graduated from the University of Maine in 2007 with a Bachelor’s degree in History and Andover College in 2010 with a Paralegal Certificate. She lives in Scarborough and outside of work she enjoys going to the beach and spending time with friends and family.
